How Foundation Repair IQ works

Lead generation sites do not usually explain themselves. We would rather you know exactly what this is, because you are about to make a decision involving several thousand dollars and you should know who is telling you what.

What we are

Foundation Repair IQ is an independent referral and marketing service. We publish information about foundation problems and repair costs, and we pass inspection requests from homeowners to licensed foundation repair contractors who work in their area.

What we are not

• We are not a foundation repair contractor. We do not perform repairs.
• We are not an engineering firm and we do not issue structural reports.
• We are not a home inspection company.
• We do not quote prices, produce estimates, or set what any contractor charges. Figures on this site are general industry ranges only.
• We do not employ, supervise, or control the contractors we refer you to. They are independent businesses and their work is their own.

How we are paid

We are compensated by our partner network on a per-call basis: when you call one of the tracked numbers on this site and that call reaches a contractor and meets the network's qualifying criteria, we are paid for the connection. The same applies to callback requests submitted through the form. We are not paid by you, and the call and the inspection cost you nothing.

That arrangement creates an obvious incentive — we make money when you book — so it is worth stating what we do about it. We do not publish contractor reviews, star ratings or "best company" lists, because we would have a financial reason to shade them and you would have no way to tell. We do not use countdown timers, fake scarcity, or urgency language, because foundation movement is seasonal and slow and pretending otherwise would be dishonest. And we say plainly, on the inspection page itself, that the contractor visiting your house has repairs to sell and that a second estimate is a good idea.

How we decide what to publish

The content on this site is written to be useful to someone who has just noticed a crack and does not know what it means. That leads to a few editorial rules we hold to:

• No diagnosis. We describe what symptoms can indicate. We never tell you what your house has, because we cannot know that.
• Cost figures are ranges, and labelled as estimates. We do not publish guaranteed pricing, because no honest party can.
• No invented testimonials or fabricated companies. Nothing on this site is a made-up review.
• No scaring people. Most foundation symptoms are not emergencies. Where something genuinely warrants moving quickly, we say so specifically and narrowly.

Where we operate

Currently the four Texas metros with the heaviest foundation repair demand: Dallas–Fort Worth, Houston, Austin and San Antonio. Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska share the same expansive clay problem and are on our roadmap.

Coverage is by ZIP code rather than by city, and not every ZIP code in our coverage areas has an available contractor. If we cannot match your request we will tell you rather than sit on it.
